LAS VEGAS, N.V. (July 17, 2017)  –The Board of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development voted today to approve applications for seven companies proposing the creation of over 900 jobs and investing over $75 million in Nevada.  Starbucks also received a Catalyst Fund grant for the creation of 99 high-paying jobs in a set timeframe associated with its expansion in Douglas County.

“I continue to be impressed with the quality of companies that come before the GOED Board and their commitment to people of our state,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.  “Just today, the Board voted to approve three companies creating over 100 jobs and another three companies that are creating 50 or more jobs.  This is meaningful job creation for the people of Nevada, with competitive wages and healthcare being part of this employment. It is because of Nevada’s job creators that we have turned our economy around, and I am very thankful for their dedication.”

Today, the Board also reviewed an Economic Development Financing Proposal from Storey County to bond for the infrastructure needed to build the effluent water pipeline at Tahoe Reno Industrial Park to ensure the long-term viability and build-out of the business park, where several GOED companies including Tesla and Switch are located. Companies approved today by GOED Board:

Aristrocrat Technologies, Inc. – Clark County: (25 jobs and $2,072,500 in capital investment) Aristocrat Leisure Limited is an ASX100 listed company and one of the world’s leading providers of gaming solutions. They’re licensed in 240 gaming jurisdictions and operate in 90 countries around the world, with a team of over 3,000 employees who deliver outstanding results by pushing the boundaries of innovation, creativity and technology.

Masonite Corporation –Washoe County or Lyon County: (86 jobs and $12,660,550 in capital investment) Masonite Corporation is a company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, which employs over 9,000 people worldwide. Masonite manufactures interior and exterior doors, door components, and door entry systems as Masonite is the only door manufacturer to serve both the residential and architectural markets. Masonite produces of over 120,000 interior and exterior wood, fiberglass, and metal doors a day, it has operations in more than 60 facilities in twelve countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Their vision is “to be the best provider of building products in the eyes of our customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers and communities.”

Medolac Laboratories – Clark County: (50 jobs and $5,614,130 in capital investment) Medolac is a Public Benefit company, committed to the development of life-changing human milk-based nutritional and therapeutic products. Medolac Laboratories is a Delaware registered corporation. Medolac developed the first commercially sterile human donor milk as it is currently being used by hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across the United States. The company specializes in innovative, human donor milk products for clinical use by applying proprietary biopharmaceutical processing methods that preserve many of the immune components in human milk. Medolac's purpose is to dramatically enhance access to safe, high quality human donor milk and adapted human milk nutrition, particularly in clinical and post discharge settings. The Mothers Milk Cooperative Milk Bank and Medolac formed the first cooperative producer/processor partnership of its kind in human milk banking and are mutually dedicated to make available the safest and highest quality human donor milk.

Starbucks Coffee Company – Douglas County: (99 jobs and $4,448,000 in capital investment) Starbucks Corporation is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain. Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1971. As of 2016, it operates around 25,000 locations in more than 75 countries. Starbucks serves more than 30 blends and single-origin premium coffees as well as handcrafted beverages, food item and merchandise. Starbucks is committed to offering high-quality, ethically purchased and responsibly produced products. Starbucks also offers community engagement through public conversation and elevating civic engagement through service and promoting voter registration.

Sunpreme, Inc. – Clark County: (200 jobs and $29,930,000 in capital investment) Sunpreme is a six-year old Company located in Sunnyvale, CA that is transitioning from a start-up to a growth phase global enterprise that offers complete solar energy solutions for numerous applications. With 50MW of Bifacial double glass panels installed or under completion, Sunpreme transforms PV solar (photovoltaic system) from a utilitarian function to artistic roof-top designs that add beauty to the function. Sunpreme has a HCT cell production line in Jiaxing, near Shanghai in China where these cells are packaged in thin-profile double glass panels which have been successfully deployed in 24 countries around the world.

The Anthem Companies, Inc. – Clark County: (400 jobs and $5,448,500 in capital investment) Anthem, Inc. is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Anthem, Inc. was formed when WellPoint Health Networks Inc. and Anthem, Inc. merged in 2004 to become the nation's leading health benefits company. They changed their name from WellPoint, Inc. to Anthem, Inc. in 2014. Through its affiliated health plans, Anthem companies deliver a number of leading health benefit solutions through a broad portfolio of integrated health care plans and related services such as life and disability insurance benefits, dental, vision, behavioral health benefit services, as well as long term care insurance and flexible spending accounts.

Vegas Sheets LLC – Clark County: (69 jobs and $19,245,687 in capital investment) Corrugated Synergies International, LLC (CSI), Vegas Sheets' parent company, was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Renton, Washington. CSI is a Project Development and Operational Services Company Specializing in the Corrugated Packaging Industry. For the past 30 years the company has been the innovative leader in sheet feeding to the corrugated industry. CSI designs, creates, and operates industry leading corrugating and converting facilities for packaging and has developed and operated eleven highly successful sheet feeder operations and three full line box plants, employing 16 state-of-the-art corrugators.
