NCED to Lead Trade Mission to South America
In Argentina, participating Nevada businesses will visit SIAL-Mecosur, the largest food trade show in South America. This is the best trade event to introduce food products into the rapidly growing South American markets. Before the show participants travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to meet with buyers of food ingredient products.
In 2009, exports of consumer oriented foods to Argentina and Brazil totaled nearly $180 million. Demand for food ingredient products in 2010 is projected to grow as a result of a gradual economic recovery and larger exports.
Suitable products include, but are not limited to: canned vegetables, cookies, snacks, food ingredients, fruits, nuts, sauces, soups, sport beverages, sugar confections, and other processed foods. Products must be at least 50 percent U.S. agricultural origin by weight, excluding added water and packaging. The deadline to register for the trip is June 28th.
